About Us

SMPN1 Sigumpar is a junior high school with the status of public school located in a small area in the district Sigumpar, Tobasa, North Sumatra.

The building of SMPN1 Sigumpar formerly located next to the tomb of Dr. I.L. Nommensen, Sigumpar. However, the number of students of SMPN1 Sigumpar grew up. There were students who came from Sigumpar and from other areas in Tobasa. This condition made the school building was not able anymore to keep the students there studying comfortably. So the school decided to build a new building in a location that is more adequate in 2001.

SMPN1 Sigumpar started moving in 2001 to Lumban Balian. Although the school moved in 2001 to a new location, the school immediately fixed the school environment and the construction of the main rooms in advance. Then, the school started the construction of the supporting rooms several years later, and fixed the facilities. Until the school has a clean environment, comfortable and it’s far away now from the noise of highway vehicles.

Although the location of SMPN1 Sigumpar in a small area in Tobasa, the students of SMPN1 Sigumpar still show their capabilities. This is evidenced by many achievements that have been achieved by the students since 1990 until now. Various awards have been achieved by the students in various categories from academic and non-academic.
