Last year, Ministry of Education and Culture has announced the admission policy using a standard high school grades and a written test. However, this year entirely from the score of the UN.
"We've set a national examination and it can be used to get into a higher level. That is what we call as vertical integration, the junior high school’s certificate can be used to go to the senior high school because it has been done for a long time and had no polemic," said Minister of Education and Culture, M. Nuh after reviewing the UN at SMP 285 in Pulau Untung Jawa, Kepulauan Seribu, Jakarta, Monday (05/05/2014).
Each school is allowed to enter the selection. But not anymore be a written test as in previous years.
"The selection system is by looking for the best UN score. To graduate from senior high school, vocational school, MA (Madrasah Aliyah) we also had a deal from fellow college as part of determining SNMPTN later," he continued.
This program has been started since 2011. And last year, it has been done on SNMPTN by ranking all the applicants according to the UN scores around Indonesia.
"It's a great concept we started in 2011, we planned the vertical integration and we can generate from this year," said the former rector of ITS.
This vertical integration will be applied to all levels of education in Indonesia. This is because the test scores and grades while studying in elementary and junior high is sufficient for the placement test."If schools do the test, there will be a cost charged to students," he said.
